Limewash Matte Protective Sealer

For walls that need to be wiped now and then. A clear, very flat, breathable topcoat for densified limewash only (never plain limewash), so the wall can be wiped and still keep its softness. It's compatible with Modern Lime Paint too, where sealing is optional.

Because it breathes, it doesn't form a complete seal. The surface becomes wipeable, not non-porous, and it can still stain, especially from highly pigmented materials.

Wait at least 24 hours after the final coat of limewash or Modern Lime Paint, then lay it on with the same Limewash Block Brush, in the same strokes as the finish beneath, and the texture carries through. Give it a second coat about 2 hours later. Go lightly and don't overbrush: working sealer back and forth can damage the delicate surface of limewash and Modern Lime Paint. Some color and sheen change can occur, and dark shades such as Carbone or Cacao can look different once sealed. Try it on a sample board or a hidden patch first.

• Over: densified limewash only, never plain limewash. Optional over Modern Lime Paint.

• Apply: two coats, about 2 hours apart, on densified limewash and on Modern Lime Paint. Don't overbrush; it can damage the delicate surface of limewash and Modern Lime Paint.

• Care: wipeable, not washable. Use a damp (not wet) cloth and a little pH-neutral mild soap if needed; never scrub.
• Touch-ups: brush Lime-Prep over the spot first, because fresh limewash won't bond to sealer
• Not waterproof, splash-proof or stain-proof. It's breathable and doesn't form a complete seal, so it can still stain, especially from highly pigmented materials. Showers and backsplashes belong in tile.
• Water-based, zero VOC (under 5 g/L), breathable, interior use only
• Typically ships within 2 business days
