Green Limewash Colors

Greens from misty sage and dried herb to deep olive and emerald, in a velvety flat-matte limewash. Start with Celadon or Verde Terroso; go deeper with Viridiano.

About green limewash

Green limewash runs from soft, misty sages and dried herbs to deep, moody olives and emeralds. Made from lime and natural mineral pigments, it dries to a velvety, flat-matte texture with subtle movement and a natural cloudy bloom, a grounding backdrop for farmhouse, organic or wabi-sabi rooms.

Zero-VOC, virtually odorless and breathable on masonry and plaster, with no synthetic binders. Made in the USA.

Colors to try & pair

Use green in bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms for a quiet, settled feel. The range runs from soft, muted Celadon and Verde Terroso to deep, saturated Viridiano. Pair greens with warm neutrals like Argilla Francese or Gesso.

Sample first. Limewash dries much lighter than it looks wet, so test a sample jar or hand-painted sample card in your own light before you buy. See all color samples.

Prep, coats & finishing

Bare brick, stone, stucco and plaster take limewash directly. Drywall and painted walls need one coat of Lime-Prep Primer first; it can be painted over in about 2 hours at 70°F with moderate humidity. Brush on two coats, plus an optional third. Ideally leave 24 hours between coats, though you can recoat once the wall is dry. A gallon covers about 300 sq ft over two coats.

Mix Limewash Densifier into the final coat on walls people touch. It reduces chalking and the need for a sealer, but it doesn't make the wall wipeable. For a wipeable surface, add Matte Protective Sealer over densified limewash only: two coats, 2 hours apart, starting at least 24 hours after the final coat. Don't overbrush. It breathes rather than fully sealing, so the wall is wipeable, not washable, and highly pigmented materials can still stain it.
